PLEASE don’t do this. It might not seem it to someone who doesn’t make them, but finding the videos, downloading them, working out what to use, getting the frames extracted/captured & sorted, adding text, sizing, colouring & enhancing, all whilst trying to keep the quality & staying within Tumblr’s parameters can be extremely difficult & time-consuming.

Reuploading a gif that took me hours (yes, in some cases, hours) to make, especially when you then put your own blog as the source, is so infuriating. I spend a lot of time building & maintaining an extensive tagging system to make sure it is incredibly easy to find any gif that you might have saved from a while ago or seen on a forum somewhere, & you can always ask me where something is for you to reblog.

I don’t mind when they are used as reaction gifs, but for challenge posts, ABC posts, as part of a favourites post etc, please reblog, delete any text that you don’t want & write in your own.

It’s just disheartening to go into the tracked tags & see someone has reuploaded a gif from the blog, & tiring having to constantly message people about it, especially if they then argue with me. Credit where credit’s due; if you didn’t make it, don’t claim that you did. I reblog & so should you.

If you have a problem with any of this, make your own.
